We are pleased to announce the first major updates to NP Budgeting’s features since the add-on’s release in 2022. Read on to see how NP Budgeting is now an even more powerful tool for collaborative nonprofit budgeting:

Other Income and Other Expense tracking

NP Budgeting now supports a multi-step statement of activity. The Chart of Accounts has been expanded to include Other Income and Other Expense accounts, allowing a distinction between Net Operating Income and Net Income. This means NP Budgeting can now mirror QuickBooks for restricted fund tracking.

Start and end months for income and expenses

You now have finer-grained control over how your budget items are divided between months. For each income and expense item, enter in the amount per month, as well as the starting month and ending month. The template will automatically include that amount in each month in the range.

Account selection for wages

Employee wages can now be assigned to multiple wage accounts. The Payroll Expenses sheet now includes an Account column to select the appropriate wage account for each employee.

Other fixes and improvements

The add-on now works more smoothly on copied spreadsheets and loads more quickly. Various other small features and bug fixes have also been made to improve the user experience.
